The X-DIAS I/O system expands the established S-DIAS automation system in the customer-specific printed circuit board (PCB) design. As a series machine builder with medium and high volumes, you can flexibly integrate X-DIAS into your individual circuit boards, saving wiring time and costs.

The new modular I/O series is based on the proven S-DIAS system, so it is just as robust and vibration-resistant. At 12.5 x 102 x 63 mm, the X-DIAS modules are even more compact in terms of depth.

Facts That Speak for Themselves

Functionally optimized for wiring boards

Thanks to their electromechanical design, X-DIAS modules can be mounted individually and directly onto custom wiring boards. Each module features LED status indicators on the front and coding pins on the rear. The corresponding mounting holes on the wiring board ensure correct positioning of each module. This mechanical keying prevents incorrect installation and enhances system reliability. In addition, connectors, fuses, isolation relays, and the required interconnecting wiring can be positioned flexibly to meet specific application requirements. The wiring board also routes the X-DIAS bus and bus power supply seamlessly from one module to the next.

Save wiring time, minimize mistakes

Using wiring boards eliminates the need for manual point-to-point wiring, significantly reducing both wiring time and costs. Pre-assembled cable harnesses further minimize the risk of wiring errors and substantially reduce commissioning effort, enabling faster and more reliable machine installation.

Easy integration

The X-DIAS I/O system can be seamlessly combined with the S-DIAS-System, for example to support base machine variants or application-specific options. Simply select the appropriate S-DIAS CPU as the controller. In addition to VARAN Industrial Ethernet, other fieldbus systems can also be used to connect the X-DIAS wiring boards to the controller, providing maximum flexibility for your automation architecture.

Cost-optimized communication

X-DIAS modules can also be connected directly to the S-DIAS backbone bus via a ribbon cable using the S/X-DIAS AP 001 adapter module. This direct connection eliminates the need for a fieldbus, reducing both system complexity and overall costs.

Convenient Engineering

Like all SIGMATEK I/O systems, X-DIAS is fully integrated into the object-oriented LASAL engineering tool. Object-oriented programming with graphical visualization provides a clear and well-structured project architecture while maximizing modularity and code reuse, making application development both efficient and user-friendly.
